ドイツ出身のJonathanである。
「ドイツ出身」と言っても、お父さんがドイツ人、お母さんがフランス人ということで、ドイツ語とフランス語を堪能に、そして程々の英語も話す。ドイツ生活が長いが、高校生あたりの4年間はフランスで過ごしたという。
大学ではスポーツ科学を専攻し、7年間かけて卒業した経歴を持つ。
「何故スポーツ科学を勉強したの？」と聞くと「2年間の軍隊生活から体を使うことに面白さを覚えたから」とのこと。当時、ドイツではまだ20代前後の青年が軍隊で2年間務める徴兵制度があった。
続いて「7年間、何をしていたの？」と聞くと「主に卒論を書くのに時間がかかった」とのこと。そんな卒論の題目は“レジャースポーツとユースホステル”。実際にドイツとフランスのユースホテルを100ほど訪問して書いたという。
そして、1年くらい前に大学を卒業し、昨夏、50キロほど離れたケルンから現在の農場に、押し車に荷物を乗せて1週間くらいかけて歩いてやってきたという。
「これから先、一切、車や電車といった類のものを使いたくない」という強い信念を持っている。また、「裸足が一番」と通常の靴は履かずに5本指のビニールと布で出来た特別な靴を履いている。冷たさや水、石を含め、地面の温度や表面の質を直接感じることができるらしい。
そんなJonathan、「子どもは作りたくない」と言う。「どうして？」と尋ねると「今の世の中は子どもが幸せになれるような状況じゃないから」とのこと。とても真面目、かつ心優しい青年である。
Jonathan has been staying at the same farm since last summer. He has a German dad and a French mom, and grew up most of his life in Germany except for 4 years in France. He studied Sports Science in university spending for 7 years. Most of the years, he worked on his final thesis which subject was on the relationship between sports and youth-hostels. He wrote under his actual experiences of visiting around 100 youth-hostels in Germany and France. He came to the farm from Koln walking for 50km. It was due to what he now tries to do; not to use any automobiles such as cars and trains. Further, he does not wear regular shoes, but the shoes with 5 fingers that he can feel the temperature and softness of the landscape. He says he does not want to have own children because the world today is not good for them. He is a very serious man with very warm heart.
