307: 冬野菜：ビーツ(Winter Veg.3:Red Beets)

土を掘り起こしていると…、ビーツを発見！
1日の畑作業の後は、冬の畑からの贈り物を美味しくいただきました。
ごちそうさまでしたぁ☆
While I was weeding and digging the soil a bit putting air in, I hit another gift from the winter garden, red beets! After working on the garden all day long, we cooked them and had a lovely dinner full of the gifts from the winter garden! Yammieee ;-)

306: 冬野菜：ケイル(Winter Veg.2:kale)

もう1つ冬野菜の紹介。ケイル。晩秋に収穫し忘れていたものらしく、既に立派な大きさに育っていた。それらを全て収穫すると押し車いっぱいの量。すてき♪ There are also kales on the garden in this early spring, which were actually left not got harvested last autumn. They have actually grown up widely. By harvesting all of them, I got a wheel-car full of kales!

305:冬野菜：コーンサラダ／ムーシュ (Winter Veg.1:Corn Salad/Moench)

寒い冬が明け、段々と温かくなり、いつの間にか畑を覆っていた雪は溶けてしまった。
 とうとう春本番、畑仕事の季節がやってきた！
っと、畑に目をやると緑の物体が！
コーンサラダという寒い冬でも育つ野菜。 その強さには感心させられます。
It has been getting gradually warmer and warmer day by day, and the snow has disappeared from the ground. It is the time for… gardening!!! Ohps! There are actually already plants growing on the garden! They are actually corn salad or called moench that grow even in the winter, very strong plants.

304: 寝室(Sleeping room)

これまでのファームスティはＷＷＯＯＦという団体を通して行っている。
農場のお手伝いをすることによって、住まいと食事が提供される。
ただ、仕事や滞在の条件は農家によって様々。
ここ数ヶ月間お世話になっている農場では、とても住み心地の良い個別の寝室が与えられた。
I am not sure if I have mentioned this before, but I have been doing the farm-stays throughout wwoof (the worldwide organization for organic farmers www.wwoof.org ). By wwoofing, you give hands for farmers and received accommodation as well as meals. All the status of the work and accommodation can vary on each farm. And the farmer whom I have been with for the past few months have offered me a private room for stay. What a cozy room it has been!

303:小屋の掃除 (Cleaning Huts)

農場には幾つかの小屋がある。 ニワトリ用、あひる用、鴨用…。
5羽のニワトリは冬が終わるまでにキツネに食べ尽くされてしまったらしい。
そこで、春になったということで新たなニワトリを飼うことに。
その前に、小屋の掃除。小屋の掃除。
古い木屑は腐葉土に用いて、新たな木屑を敷く。 なんだか住み心地の良さそうな小屋になりました。
There are few huts around the farm; for chicken, duck and goose. The 5 chicken lived in one of them, but all of them died by the end of winter. They were eaten by fox though… Well, the spring has come, it is the time to get new ones! Therefore, I got to clean up the huts; taking out all the old woodchips, put them at the compost pile, and place new ones. In the end, the huts looked nice comfortable places to sleep.

302: カーニバル(Carnival)

2月初旬、ケルンを含めた周辺で盛大なカーニバルが開催される。
派手な衣装に身をこなし、路上で音楽を演奏したり、踊ったり、呑んだり…。
それは、夜だけでなく朝から行われ、1日だけで終わらず、数日間に渡る。
The celebration of Rose Monday everywhere! Sometime in February, there are carnivals going on around Cologne including Maastricht in the Netherland, which I went. People put costumes on, play music, dance and drink on the streets. They party not only during the night, but also during the day, and they last for not only one day, but also few days.

301: おかえりなさい(Welcome back from Africa)

アフリカでの任務を終えた建築家が帰宅する朝。 出迎えるために特別なブランチを家族と準備して待っていた。
The architect farmer came back from Cameroon. On that morning, the family prepared a special brunch to welcome him.
